The Job
Reporting to our Head of Growth Marketing, the Senior Growth Marketing Analyst will own and accelerate the marketing analytics function at Homebase. You’ll leverage your analytical expertise, marketing knowledge, and business acumen to propel high-impact initiatives and help scale the overall growth marketing strategy.
This role will work closest with the Growth Marketing team (Paid Marketing, SEO, CRO) but will also sit at a crucial intersection of several Integrated Growth team stakeholders (Biz Ops, Data Science/Engineering, Product Growth, and Lifecycle) to identify deeper patterns and opportunities to better serve our customer base, advance our channel optimizations, and guide our decision-making process.
The Growth Marketing team is driven by a bias to action, ownership, curiosity, and deep empathy for our customers. We’re looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and data-driven marketer with an entrepreneurial mindset. Role Outcomes
- Accountable for owning and scaling our marketing analytics function with a focus on activating our best-fit customers across growth marketing channels.
- Provide a full slate of proactive analytical support against growth marketing initiatives to implement insights and push initiatives forward.
- Establish new capabilities, systems, processes, and automations to advance marketing analytics and operational practices.
Responsibilities
- Establish marketing analytics capabilities across growth marketing domains – analyze user behaviors, delineate optimal target audiences and key customer segments, campaign performance measurement and evaluation (against key metrics), budget forecasting.
- Dive into critical business metrics to understand why they are moving up or down and form clear POVs around what we should do about it. Identify gaps and opportunities, and work cross-functionally to implement insights.
- Develop new marketing measurement frameworks with cross-functional stakeholders to capture all parts of the customer journey (from prospect to signup to active customer). Connect the dots between different systems, channels, data sources, and attribution methods to provide a complete picture of marketing results.
- Partner with Growth Marketing Leads, Biz Ops, and Data Science to design and run experiments and other tests for causal inference against key KPIs. Analyze performance and connect results to broader business impact.
- Size and evaluate new markets, channels, or opportunities with a POV on how they would be additive to business impact.
- Partner with Data Engineers on data-related marketing operations to ensure proper tracking, attribution, measurement, and analysis (e.g., marketing data infrastructure, data centralization and ETL, data cleanliness & accessibility, etc.)
- Shape the marketing analytics culture through accessible data design & maintenance, as well as building systems, processes, and automations.
- Translate data in an accessible way for different stakeholders across all levels of the organization - dive into technical details but also distill complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing intelligence, business intelligence, or other similar roles (preferably in a high growth environment)
- Advanced abilities in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, a must. Requisite knowledge of other relevant languages (e.g., Python or R) and statistical modeling techniques are an asset.
- Skilled with data visualization tools (Looker/Tableau/Domo/etc.) and analytics platforms (Google Analytics or equivalent)
- Experience measuring and analyzing marketing channels and campaigns across paid marketing (SEM, affiliates, paid social, video), SEO, CRO, Lifecycle preferred. Familiarity with brand measurement and PR is a plus.
- Possesses strong business acumen – can translate and connect complex data sets, technical concepts, and domain knowledge into actionable recommendations that will have transformative business impact.
- Driven by intellectual curiosity and motivated to know the “why”. Willing to dig into complex, ambiguous problems and go beyond the scope of a given problem set to get answers.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills – able to prioritize by highest business impact and navigate cross-functional requirements across common goals
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where pivots in priorities may be necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with attribution models and marketing mix modeling
- Familiarity with some mix of advertising and CRM platforms. Could include but not limited to: Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, Apple Ads, Google Search Console, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.
- Experience in SMB or consumer products and/or SaaS
